Our pods are officially award-winning!

We know that you’ve got great taste in coffee (you must do, you’re on our website), but did you know that we officially, certifiably have Great Taste? This summer, 200 Degrees was awarded not one, but two Great Taste Awards by the Guild of Fine Foods (GFF). Great Taste is the largest and most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme in the UK. Through the award scheme, the GFF supports and promotes a wide range of food and drink producers, giving buyers and food lovers reliable recommendations for great tasting food and drink.

14,195 products were put through the competition’s rigorous blind judging process before the chosen few were selected for either a 1, 2 or 3-star award. Our Brazilian Love Affair and Switch Up Pods were awarded two stars, rating them “outstanding” in their field. The judges called our Brazilian Love Affair pods a “beautifully crafted coffee” with a “luxurious mouthfeel” and the Switch Up pods were described as “beautifully juicy, packed with fruit and soft, sweet caramel chocolate that lasts and lasts.”

We first launched our pods back in 2022. Pod machines are a simple, effective way to enjoy your morning coffee, and we wanted to ensure that owners would be able to enjoy the great taste (see what we did there?!) of 200 Degrees in their own homes, just like our espresso machine aficionados or aeropress addicts do. We believed that there should be no drop in quality when using a pod machine, so we worked meticulously to craft the finest coffee in pod form, replicating the experience you have when you drink a coffee in one of our shops. It tastes as close as possible to having freshly ground beans turned into a smooth and tasty espresso by an experienced barista, but all at the touch of a button.

Not only that, but our Switch-Up pods are extra special, as they raise money for a charity close to our hearts, AND support women famers in Guatemala. Switch Up is a Nottingham-based charity that empowers young people to break the cycle of crime and gang-criminality. And the coffee comes via the La Morena project, which provides women artisans with skills and income opportunities.

You’ll start to see the Great Taste Award two-star logo on our packaging going forwards – and you can bet we won’t get tired of using the term ‘award-winning’ any time soon!
